Established in 1993, the DonauSchule is an independent, not-for-profit school. We offer German language instruction on Saturday mornings during the academic year.

The purpose of our program is to develop the beginnings of proficiency or to build upon prior language exposure. Language is presented within cultural settings: German-speaking lands as compared with the cultures the student knows.

Learning appropriate materials and methods characterize our approach to language. Grundstufe and Mittelstufe classes have a formal textbook program and assignments are encouraged. Themes and projects enrich the year. Humor, adventure, song and movement whenever possible within stories, enrich and activate the language. Assessments are integrated in all classes informally; AATG and ZDP as appropriate.
