Welcome and Willkommen. We are a family-oriented German language school that holds classes on Saturday mornings on the campus of Devon Preparatory School in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. Families come from various communities within the Delaware Valley and join us in learning and celebrating the German language and cultures of the German-speaking lands.
Our Mission
Our approach to teaching the German language emphasizes practical communication and contrasting the cultures of the German speaking lands with the culture(s) known to the students. We do this within a supportive classroom designed to address the needs and learning styles of individual students. At times, this means keeping the spark of prior German ability alive and adding to it. Alternatively, it means introducing the student to the German language and working to develop his or her enthusiasm for it. In doing this, we strive to make learning the German language a fun and enjoyable experience for our students.
The DonauSchule, an independent, non-profit school, does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender or national origin.

Wir haben 16 Jahre DonauSchule beendet!
In May we ended our 16th year, using our second name, at our third location!
Pater Koloman was a most welcome guest from Devon Prep presenting flowers from the garden to mark the occasion.
We thank you warmly for all the finger food to help our students be willing participants during the presentations and awards! You were a patient audience and helped in so many ways!
From our dedicated teachers: an urgent request that you register now. They would like to know which students and which class they will teach. I encourage you to please let us know early.
